
The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels on June 24. A weak disturbance began after 06h UT and peaked after noon. As the phi angle moved into a negative sector at the time, the most likely source of the disturbance were weak effects associated with CH1303. Solar wind speed at SOHO ranged between 378 and 485 km/sec, averaging 431 km/sec (-2 km/sec compared to the previous day). The high latitude magnetometer at Andenes recorded quiet to active levels. The above 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels all day.
Solar flux density measured at 20h UT on 2.8 GHz was 119.9 - decreasing 24.4 over the previous solar rotation. The 365 day average solar flux at 1 AU was 186.43 (183 days ago). The 81 day average solar flux at 1 AU was 145.5 (41 days ago, this is 48.3% of the solar flux range from the max 81 day average peak on September 4, 2024 at 227.3 and an average 81 day flux of 69 at solar minimum). SC25 365d peak: 195.86 on October 13, 2024. The Potsdam WDC planetary A index was 7 (STAR Ap - based on the mean of three hour interval ap indices: 6.9). Three hour interval K indices: 12222321 (planetary), 12332322 (Boulder), 12214232 (Andenes).
The background x-ray flux is at the class B4 level (GOES 19).
At the time of counting spots (see image time), spots were observed in 10 active regions using 2K resolution (SN: 197) and in 8 active regions using 1K resolution (SN: 131) SDO/HMI images.
AR 14117 [S15W16] decayed slowly and produced a
few low level C flares. C1 flares: C1.1 @ 00:28, C1.3 @ 04:55, C1.1 @ 15:06

AR 14118 [S12W03] decayed further and was the source of a few low

AR 14119 [S25W14] decayed slowly and quietly.
AR 14120 [N06W09] developed quickly after noon as new flux emerged.
AR 14121 [S12E13] developed slowly and quietly.
Spotted regions not observed (or interpreted
differently) by SWPC/USAF:
S11182 [S12W20] decayed slowly and quietly.
S11186 [S21W09] decayed slowly and quietly.
S11187 [N14E39] was quiet and stable.
S11188 [N14E72] gained spots and was mostly quiet. Two of the
opposite polarity spots are very close to each other. C1 flares: C1.1 @
12:27, C1.1 @ 13:57, C1.3 @ 14:47 UT
New region S11190 [N04E21] was observed with tiny spots in an
old plage area.
AR 14114 behind the northwest limb produced a C1.0 flare at 03:43 UT.

A small recurrent negative polarity trans equatorial coronal hole (CH1303) was Earth facing on June 20 and early on June 21. A large recurrent negative polarity trans equatorial coronal hole (CH1302) will rotate across the central meridian on June 22-25.
The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to minor storm levels on June 25-28 due to effects from CH1302.

the color changes to green.

Sunspot activity has been on a decreasing trend since September
2024 (using the average solar flux over 3 solar rotations as a proxy).
Compared to the peak of SC25 solar flux has been at a low level in both May
and June 2025. Taking a closer look at the 81 day (3 solar rotations)
average solar flux proxy, its peak was in early September 2024 and had on
May 12 decreased to less than half of the solar cycle flux range.
Subtracting the 81 day average of approximately 69 at solar cycle minimum
from all measurements, the SC25 range is 0 - 158.3.
All 365 days smoothed sunspot numbers peaked on October 11-12, 2024,
very likely making this the peak of SC25 (STAR 1K 365d peak: 236.1, STAR 2K
365d peak: 364.3, NOAA SN 365d peak: 156.0, ISN 365d peak: 163.6). The 365d
smoothed solar flux peaked on October 13, 2024, just 1.7% below the SC23
peak, and 62.6% above the SC24 peak.
