The geomagnetic field was very quiet on July 12. Solar wind speed at SOHO ranged between 280 and 302 km/sec.
Solar flux at 20h UT on 2.8 GHz was 67.6 - decreasing 2.8 over the previous solar rotation. (Centered average 90 day SF at 1 AU: Minimum of 67.77 on December 9, 2018. Current: 70.8. Centered 1 year average SF at 1 AU: Minimum of 69.13 on November 17, 2019. Current: 69.37). The Potsdam WDC planetary A index was 2 (STAR Ap - based on the mean of three hour interval ap indices: 2.0). Three hour interval K indices: 00010001 (planetary), 11012211 (Boulder)
The background x-ray flux is below the class A1 level (GOES 16).
At the time of counting spots (see image time), no spots were observed using 1K/2K resolution SDO/HMI images.

July 10-12: No obviously Earth directed CMEs were observed in available LASCO imagery.
July 9: A very slow moving partial halo CME was observed off the southern limbs during the first half of the day in LASCO C2 imagery. The CME may have been associated with an erupting filament in the southern hemisphere, the eruption began slowly at 20:16 UT on July 8 as observed in SDO/AIA imagery. There is a chance this CME could reach Earth on July 13 or 14.

No obvious coronal holes are currently in or near Earth facing positions.
Long distance low and medium frequency (below 2 MHz) propagation along paths north of due west over upper middle latitudes is very good. Propagation on long distance northeast-southwest paths is poor.
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet on July 13-15 with a chance of unsettled intervals on July 13-14 due to weak CME effects.

1) Effects from a coronal hole
could reach Earth within the next 5 days. When the high speed
stream has arrived the color changes to green.
2) Effects from a CME are likely to be observed at Earth within 96 hours.
3) There is a possibility of either M or X class flares within the next 48 hours.
Green: 0-30% probability, Yellow: 30-70% probability, Red: 70-100% probability.

When available the active region map has a coronal hole polarity overlay where red (pink) is negative and blue is positive.
