The geomagnetic field was quiet to active on September 26. Solar wind speed ranged between 347 and 407 (all day average 370) km/sec. The atypical disturbance displaying unusual changes in solar wind speed, density and temperature continued all day.
Solar flux measured at 20h UTC on 2.8 GHz was 81.3. The planetary
A
index was 14 (STAR Ap - based on the mean of three hour interval ap
indices: 13.9).
Three hour interval K indices: 43234223 (planetary), 43234323 (Boulder).
The background x-ray flux is at the class A4 level.
At midnight there were 2 spotted regions on the visible solar disk. The solar flare activity level was very low. No C class events were recorded during the day.
Region 10810 decayed slowly and quietly.
Region 10812 was quiet and stable.
A bipolar area with the expected polarity alignment of cycle 24 emerged in the southern hemisphere during the day and was located at S34E02 at midnight. As far as I could tell no spots were observable.
September 24-26: No obvious fully or partly Earth directed CMEs were observed.

A recurrent coronal hole (CH188) in the southern hemisphere may have been in an Earth facing position on September 24, however, there is a chance CH188 may have been too far to the south to become geoeffective. Anyway CH188 has lost a significant portion of its area over the last rotation. A recurrent trans equatorial coronal hole (CH189) will rotate to an Earth facing position on September 26-27. The brief appearance on September 26 of a spotted region in the western part of CH189 caused a reduction in the size of the coronal hole.

The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to active on September 27-28 and become unsettled to active on September 29-30 due to a high speed stream from CH189.

1) Effects from a coronal hole could reach Earth
within the next 5 days. When the high speed stream has arrived
the color changes to green.
2) Material from a CME is likely to impact Earth within 96 hours.
3) There is a possibility of either M or X class flares within the next
48 hours.
Green: 0-20% probability, Yellow: 20-60% probability, Red: 60-100% probability.
Long distance low and medium frequency (below 2 MHz) propagation along east-west paths over high and upper middle latitudes is very poor. Propagation on long distance northeast-southwest paths is fair. Trans Atlantic propagation conditions are normally monitored every night on 1470 kHz. Dominant stations tonight: Radio Cristal del Uruguay with an occasionally strong signal, after 0330 UTC Radio Vibración (Venezuela) became dominant.
