The geomagnetic field was inactive to quiet on November 15. Solar wind speed ranged between 326 and 416 (all day average 360) km/sec.
Solar flux measured at 20h UTC on 2.8 GHz was 100.0. The planetary
index was 4 (STAR Ap - based on the mean of three hour interval ap
Three hour interval K indices: 11222001 (planetary), 22342111 (Boulder).
The background x-ray flux is at the class B1 level.
At midnight there was 1 spotted region on the visible solar disk. The solar flare activity level was moderate. A total of 10 C and 1 M class events were recorded during the day.
Region 10822 changed significantly with the main penumbra becoming huge as two nearby negative polarity areas merged. While there is quite a bit of polarity intermixing no magnetic delta structures were observed at midnight. Further M class flares are possible. Flares: C1.4 at 00:54, C5.2 at 03:05, C2.3 at 08:18, C1.3 at 08:32, C2.3 at 12:05, C1.0 at 12:43, C2.0 at 15:32, C2.1 at 15:40, C1.2 at 15:57, M1.4 at 17:51 and C2.3 at 21:10 UTC.
November 13-15: No obvious fully or partly Earth directed CMEs were observed.

A coronal hole (CH197) in the southern hemisphere was likely in an Earth facing (potentially geoeffective) position on November 12-13. A small trans equatorial coronal hole (CH198) will be in an Earth facing position on November 16.
Processed SOHO/EIT 284 image at 19:08 UTC on November 15. The darkest areas on the solar disk are likely coronal holes.
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to active on November 16-17 and quiet to unsettled on November 18-19.

1) Effects from a coronal hole could reach Earth
within the next 5 days. When the high speed stream has arrived
the color changes to green.
2) Material from a CME is likely to impact Earth within 96 hours.
3) There is a possibility of either M or X class flares within the next 48 hours.
Green: 0-20% probability, Yellow: 20-60% probability, Red: 60-100% probability.
Long distance low and medium frequency (below 2 MHz) propagation along east-west paths over high and upper middle latitudes is fair. Propagation on long distance northeast-southwest paths is poor. Trans Atlantic propagation conditions are normally monitored every night on 1470 kHz. Dominant station tonight: Radio Vibración (Venezuela) and WWNN Pompano Beach FL. Cuba had a very good night with excellent signals from a number of stations (one example is Radio Reloj on 870 and 950 kHz).
